A well read copy of Robinson Crusoe from 1786. The calfskin had suffered a lot of damage over the years which lent the leather a very characterful patina. Wherever possible I keep the original binding, especially when it has so much history imbued into it. I repaired this one with a leather reback and retained the original spine.
